Gentrify

Gentrify was part of one of the last art shows at The Artery in Edmonton.  It was created with the purpose to respond to the beginning of the gentrification in The Quarters sector of downtown Edmonton.  Historically, housing in Edmonton has not always been accessible and the illegal act of camping continues as many people fall into homelessness due to increasing housing prices.  Gentrify is about taking the area that has accessible health, addiction and other services and rendering it useless for the people that need it, by decorating and beautifying it.
