More and more I’m finding the joy in simplicity. Its been a discipline, but as the world rages on and there is so much trying to grab your attention for this and that settling into simplicity is so good. I just made this cake from a fancy cookbook, and it was fun to try, but it made me realize that going back to my simple cakes was actually more of a joy to make. I got more out of the simplicity. The old me was never satisfied with boring and simple. I always wanted new and exciting, fresh and innovative. But as I get older and the seasons in my life change keeping up with the latest trends are becoming more challenging than joyful, and I find myself yearning and reaching out for the fresh, plain, tried and true, recipes, clothing, and decor. It’s a joy.
